Guillaume Poupy

Biography:

Guillaume Poupy is a graduate of the French engineering school Ecole Polytechnique with a specialization in biology. He began his career in the water treatment industry in Doha, Qatar, before becoming a consultant in Sustainable Development at Deloitte for six years, where he advised companies of all industries into their Sustainable Development approaches.

His career took a different direction when he decided to join, as Chief Financial Officer, an innovative start-up dedicated to 3D printing eventually bought by BASF. He then came back to its favorite environmental topics by working for a year at Entreprises pour l’environnement, a French think-tank, before joining BNP Paribas as an expert in climate change and energy transition.

Francois Carré

Biography:

François Carré has been leading BNP Paribas Voluntary Emission Reduction Project Desk since 2018. While managing the bank’s portfolio of Clean Development Mechanism projects (25 projects, 200 clients since 2010), Mr. Carré has built a strong sense of the drivers, constraints and hindrances of the emergence of carbon markets from the project developers' as well as the financing partners’ and customers’ perspectives. Over the last 10 years as a carbon finance specialist for the bank’s Corporate and Institutional Banking, he has supported financing and early innovations, like the REDD+ Kasigau Project, and expanding the bank’s offer in the Regulated, and now the Voluntary Market. He also represents BNP Paribas on several impact funds’ investment boards, as advisor, expert and board member.
